01 · Outcome
What you’ll accomplish
Find the setting that owns a task, compare the active value with an approved change, and verify the saved result. The Organization basics example below explains how to change Time zone or Week starts on; other settings have their own fields and save instructions.
02 · Prepare
Before you begin
- Confirm the studio and the change approved by its owner or manager. Know who is affected and when the new value should begin to apply.
- Use the account authorized for studio administration. Personal appearance, family billing, class visibility, and studio-wide defaults are different settings even when they are reached from the same workspace.
- Write down the currently active value and the intended replacement for your own change review. For time-zone changes, consider class schedules and effective times with the manager before saving.
03 · Workflow
Step by step
Open the correct settings area
Choose Settings in the workspace navigation. Use the Studio & access, Website & portal, Payment types, or Workspace appearance section that matches your task when available. Avoid changing a similarly named control in a different area. For the studio’s time zone or first day of the week, choose General under Organization to open Organization basics.
Read the Current settings summary
On Organization basics, read the active defaults, including Time zone and Week begins. Check the active version and when it took effect. The values in this summary are the settings in use; an edited form field is only a proposed change until a successful save confirms it. Compare the current value with the approved request.
Check what the field controls
Read the explanation under Time zone, which applies to class schedules and effective times. Week starts on offers Sunday or Monday. Locale and Currency may be fixed and unavailable for editing on this screen. Do not use another field as a workaround for a fixed value; confirm the intended change with the administrator.
Enter only the approved changes
Choose the intended Time zone or Week starts on value. Review the Unsaved changes indicator and the Change summary. Leave unrelated values as they were. If you decide not to continue, select Cancel changes to return the form to the active values. Navigating away with unsaved changes does not make them active.
Review timing before saving
Read the save explanation on the page. Organization basics validates the values and makes them active immediately when saved. If the page also shows Upcoming updates, inspect those scheduled changes separately because they may affect settings later. Do not assume an edit made now replaces or cancels a scheduled update unless that action is explicitly confirmed.
Save and handle any validation message
Select Save changes when the summary matches the approved decision. Wait while the page is saving. If a field error or validation message appears, read it and correct that field before trying again. If the page says the change was not confirmed, reload and inspect the active values before repeating the save.
Confirm the active result
Look for Settings saved and active, then compare the Current settings summary with the intended value. The form should no longer show pending changes. Reopen the relevant work area, such as Schedule, to check the practical result within the available controls. Tell affected colleagues which setting changed and when the save took effect.
What to expect: The active summary, rather than just the editable form, shows the approved value.
Review history or a scheduled change when needed
Use History to review earlier settings changes when that area is available to your account. If an existing scheduled change should no longer happen, obtain the studio’s decision first, enter the Cancellation reason beside that update, and choose Cancel scheduled change. Check its confirmation; canceling a scheduled update and changing today’s active value are separate actions.
04 · Check
If something does not look right
Save changes is unavailable.
Check whether you actually changed Time zone or Week starts on and whether another save is in progress. The button is unavailable when there are no changes to save. If the administration area itself is unavailable or read-only, ask the owner to review your access rather than attempting the same task through another person’s account.
A validation message appears or a save is not confirmed.
Read the field-specific explanation and correct the value that caused the problem. For an unconfirmed save, reload and compare Current settings with the intended value before retrying. If the error remains, tell the administrator which field, value, and message are involved; do not keep changing unrelated settings to clear the error.
The setting’s effect is unclear.
Pause before saving and identify the affected work. A studio-wide time zone, a class’s Parent Portal visibility, and a personal theme affect different things. Ask the owner to confirm the scope and timing. Use the relevant class or payment guide for those tasks rather than assuming Organization basics controls all studio behavior.
